Shawn: question1
JG. answer1
Shawn: To have an impact in changing the entertainment industry's embrace of negative female imagery. Due to the constant visual advertisement of video girls, waif models, and "party girls", many women have an unrealistic expectation for themselves. On top of that, the mindset that you are only good enough to be used for your body and face and not your talents is all too commonplace. We have to have a strong sense of who we are.
JG. What is your passion and how do you plan for it to positively influence others without compromising your faith?
Shawn: Shawn. Helping people through the arts! The arts is a way of life. It gives many people hope and a sense of awareness. My faith and the arts have shaped and molded me. I choreographed a dance number called "No More Drama", which dealt with the issue of domestic violence. I have had several women contact me just to let me know that the power of that performance helped them to leave an abusive relationship. When people see me, I want them to see Christ within me. I have turned down numerous projects for the sake of my integrity. It's okay to say no...it's okay not to compromise. Ultimately, I strive to live so that God is pleased!
